This is how we unload a load of woodchips (pulpwood) in Western Canada. This is one of our competitors on the Megadumper, as one of our units was not in to unload at the time. Sorry about the quaility as I took this with my Blackberry Pearl.
The Megadumper can handle 90,000 kgs (198,400 lbs) but the legal weight of the unit on the dumper is 63,500 kgs (140,000 lbs) max. The driver unlatches the front door of the pup (back) trailer so the chips from the lead (front) trailer can pass through. He unlatches the drawbridge on the back of the lead and the drawbridge drops to allow the chips to pass over it to the pup. The side doors are now free to swing out and this creates a bottom (drawbridge) and sides (doors) to contain the chips as the pass from lead to pup. The driver unlatches the back door of the pup and this is where the chips call down into the hoopper bin to be conveyored out to the mill.
