California's Greatest Ski & Snowboarding Mountain

Part of California's majestic High Sierras, Mammoth Mountain often has the longest ski season in the U.S as well as some of the best terrain for skiing and snowboarding in the world. If a ski-in/ski-out vacation sounds appealing, read on. (And, guess what, it's more affordable than you think!)

All the amenities you'd expect from a top-notch resort are here: a large outdoor heated swimming pool, three hot tubs, two barbecues, game room, business center, fitness center, and underground parking (which is an incredibly nice perk especially after a full blown Sierra powder dump!). Skiers and boarders will enjoy the convenience of purchasing their lift ticket from the front desk. And, you can't beat the free seasonal shuttle that runs every 30 minutes during ski season which will take you into town, the Village, Main Lodge or Canyon Lodge.

This unit is especially coveted because it overlooks the pool deck and offers expansive mountain views. On the inside you will find the creature comforts of home including a gas fireplace, microwave oven, dishwasher blender, iron/ironing board, high speed internet, flat screen TV, Direct TV, VCR, DVD, Sony iPhone/iPad player, Blu-ray (Netflix, You Tube, etc.). Both rooms are appointed with king-size beds, and there's a sofa sleeper in the living room. Laundry facilitates are a short distance down the hall.

Peak season is ski season for good reason, but the town of Mammoth offers a nice medley of restaurants that run the gamut from casual fun to fine dining for even the finickiest foodie. Ultra-hip boutiques and day spas can be found in the Village and on Main Street. During the winter there are endless activities for the outdoor enthusiastic including skiing, snow-boarding, cross country skiing, sledding, ice skating, snowmobiling, gondola rides, hiking, dog sledding and more
