Ed DiProsoero didn’t share many details about his military service with his family until he was about 96-year-old. What was finally shared was an incredible story beginning when he was drafted and joined the Army’s 36th Infantry Division during World War II. Ed survived a bout with Malaria and a significant shrapnel injury from a tank gun explosion that landed directly behind him. Despite illness and injury, he returned to his unit and was part of the fighting force that liberated Grenoble, France and helped breakthrough the Siegfried Line, Germany’s last line of defense.
