Contralto Elsie Baker (Edna Brown here) once sang for Preident Taft. In the Teens and Twenties she waxed hundreds of VICTOR sides. During the '20s Elsie concertized and had her own radio show.
For the 1950 Census, Elsie's last Gov't. head count before passing in '58 at age 71, she was listed as divorced and living with a partner named Ellen.
Elliot Shaw worked solo, in duet with Charles Hart or Miss Baker/Brown, also as baritone in the Shannon Four and Revelers. On the classical side, he was a member of the Victor Light Opera Co. Shaw's catalog is equally as large as Elsie's/Edna's.
