Even though she was a doctor, she knew nothing about caring for birds. With no vet available to help, she spent days learning how to keep the tiny survivor alive. She named the little bird Muffin.

Muffin soon showed a beautiful personality. She was friendly, curious, and loved being around people. She followed her rescuer everywhere and even enjoyed going outside on small walks.

But one day a dog caught Muffin. She survived, but the fear caused her to lose all her feathers. For months she struggled to recover. Slowly, her feathers grew back, and the happy little bird returned.

Today Muffin is free and can fly away anytime. But every day she chooses to stay with the woman who saved her.
