Baslow is a lovely place to start a walk in the Derbyshire Peak District. It has a good public transport, plenty of parking and some stunning places pretty close to visit.
The village of Baslow also has some good options to treat yourself before of after your walk, with a couple of pubs, restaurants and cafes for either before of after your walk.
This Baslow walk takes you on a lovely walk ticking off two Peak District edges on the route, as well as a few other scenic spots! You first head on the footpath below Baslow Edge before looping round at Curbar Gap and walking along the edge then it’s past Wellington’s monument before heading down a track where you (might) see some Highland Cows!
From here, there is a small road section with a busy crossing but once you’re safely over it’s up onto the moorland and across to Gardom’s Edge, which has plenty of good viewpoints at the start before the edge is hidden by the trees. You then head down and through a plantation back to Baslow.
