What is better than a disassembled mountainbike for transport?
A disassembled mountainbike that still rolls.
This is inspired by Japanese Rinko and the Cycles Cadence concept bike which won the “Concours des Machines” challenge in 2021.
I improved it in a few ways:
No special bike is required, instead the parts can be added to many modern bikes. It is significantly smaller in each dimension, 109 x 79 x 42 cm (for my personal bike with size large frame and 27.5 x 3.0 wheels) instead of 120 x 90 x 47 cm. This increases usability as well as conforming to baggage regulations in more places. As would be the case with a good folding bike the dirtiest parts are on the inside and the folded package is stable so it can be easily carried and laid on its side.
