Mob grazing is a planned grazing system that seeks to work with nature and improve farm profitability at the same time. Animals are moved frequently, usually every 1-3 days. Pasture is then given a long rest period, which varies depending on the time of year and grass growth rate: https://soilassociation.co/3vQGaNC
As part of our farmer-led mob grazing video series, we held a Q&A on outwintering in wet conditions with farmers Heather and Philip Close of Balsar Glen, Katharine Sharp of Achpopuli Farm and Roger Dixon-Smith of the Sailean Project. Among other topics, they covered outwintering cattle and sheep, bale grazing methods, managing foot health and enhancing biodiversity.
