California High Speed Rail Construction Every Inch from Shafter to Kern/Tulare County Line (CP 4)

Описание: Here is the 1st part of Round 7 of my CAHSR construction Every Inch drone coverage. This one starts in Shafter, at the Southern Railhead Facility. It ends just north of the Kern / Tulare County Line, where CP 4 ends and CP 2-3 begins.

This is the entire Construction Package 4, that has been stalled out for over a year due to some issues with the Kern Irrigation District, among other smaller things. These are not hold-ups by CAHSR. They are waiting for an irrigation district and others to move their stuff.

The railhead, at the beginning of the video, is where all the materials, needed to install the rail and electrification, is delivered by BNSF Railway. The open area to the north of the yard will be storage, offices, and shops. It is cool to see rails placed on the guidway, even though these are temporary freight rails and not high speed rails.

Eventually, we pass the Wasco Amtrak Station. I think this is going to be one of the coolest train spotting spots. The CAHSR will not stop here and it will be passing through at pretty high speed :)

After Wasco, we get the major hold up for this section. The Kern Irrigation District is having some sort of battle with CAHSR in court and they are not realigning this one little canal until they settle the dispute. I think it has been a couple years and that little canal has not been touched :(

Before and after this little irrigation canal, it seems to be ready for rail. The only other little hold up I know about is a mystery just south of Peterson Road. I think it may be a wellhead that no one is claiming or otherwise refusing to deal with.
