Last year I drove the new Renault Megane RS, and although I found it to be a good car, I didn't exactly fall in love with it. This time, however, I have the Trophy to play with. It offers more power, better handling, and a tweaked exhaust, so is this model able to worm its way in to my heart a little bit more?
It retains the same 1.8 litre turbocharged engine seen in the standard car, only it now offers 300hp thanks to a ceramic ball bearing system in the turbocharger that offers a better response. Along with that, it also offers 400Nm of torque.
This power can either be mated to the a 6-speed manual gearbox, or 6-speed automatic - I have the manual version in this video. 62mph is dealt with in 5.7 seconds, and the top speed is 162mph.
