Описание: Japanese comedian Nasubi (real name: Tomoaki Hamatsu) rose to fame through a segment on the popular variety show Denpa Shōnen, which aired on Nippon TV from 1998 to 1999. The segment, titled Denpa Shōnen teki Kenshō Seikatsu (or “Prize Life”), posed the question: “Can a person survive solely on what they win from prize contests?” In the experiment, Nasubi had all his belongings, including his clothes, taken away and was confined alone in a small, unfurnished apartment. He was allowed to live only off the items he won through mail-in sweepstakes, spending his days tirelessly filling out entry postcards. The original goal was to win prizes totaling one million yen in value. However, food-related prizes were scarce, and there were times when he had to sustain himself on dog food. Unbeknownst to him, his entire experience was being broadcast on national television. Even when he eventually won a TV, he couldn’t watch the broadcast because the apartment had no antenna. After successfully reaching the prize goal, he was taken to South Korea and challenged to repeat the process there—this time aiming to win prizes equivalent to the cost of a plane ticket home. He managed to complete the task and returned to Japan, bringing the surreal journey of his prize-life experiment to a close.
