About Panimur Waterfall
Often called the “Niagara of Northeast”, it’s fed by the Kopili River that plunges over rocky outcrops to form wide, milky-white cascades set against lush hills and forests .
The river’s color shifts from turquoise to deep blue depending on the season and light .
This site holds cultural significance for the Dimasa tribe, who perform sacred baths here during Magh Purnima .
Location & Access
Located in Dima Hasao district, Panimur lies approximately 120 km from Haflong and about 73 km from Lumding Junction, both well-connected by road and rail .
From Guwahati, it is about 220 km (4–5 hours) via Nagaon and Lanka towns along NH‑27 and NH‑627. Keep in mind the last leg from Lanka is on poorer roads .
