Did you know that in the ancient Arabic dictionary, 'Ramadan' does not refer to a month, but rather to the 'heat of summer'? And 'fasting' does not just mean not eating, but its real meaning is 'to restrain oneself' or self-control?
[Main Summary]
In today's episode, we have gone beyond conventional fiqh or religious concepts and tried to find the real meaning of 'fasting' and 'Ramadan' using pure linguistics, ancient Arabic dictionaries and the root words of the Quran.
From the linguistic analysis of the Quran, we see that— "Self-control or abstinence has been imposed on us. Every year, during the heat of summer (Ramadan), when the full moon (Shahr) is seen in the sky, we have to refrain from eating, drinking and lust for a few days from dawn to night. If someone is sick or on a journey during this time, he should make up for these days at another time."
