Anchor: The Award Show is the grand highlight of the competition. On this special evening, our wonderful host Jenny Augusta take the stage at the St. Pauli Theater to present six of the year’s most exciting up-and-coming live acts. The jury constisting of Tayla Parx, Suzi Quatro, Laurie Anderson, Bazzazian, and Max Giesinger is then announces the winner of the Anchor 2025.

Playful and innocent, Mei Semones’ music floats like a child’s poem written on balloons. On her debut album, Animaru (released in 2025 by Bayonet Records), the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter opens an auditory kaleidoscope, blending folk, Japanese poetry, bossa nova, indie rock and jazz to create a warm, melodic and technically brilliant sound. Standout tracks such as 'Tora Moyo' and 'Rat With Wings' showcase her blend of intimacy and precision. Tension and release are the hallmarks of her music, proving that Mei Semones is truly in a league of her own.
