From Aomori Station, we circled the Shimokita Peninsula and headed to Hachinohe Station.
The tip of the peninsula is Oma Cape, the northernmost point of Honshu.
Oma Cape is a fishing port famous for its high-quality tuna used as sushi toppings.
At the first auction, a 270kg tuna was once sold for over 300 million yen.

There was also a rock tunnel that looked like Totoro.

Honshu is the largest island in Japan. (Tokyo and Osaka are on Honshu.)
The Shimokita Peninsula is the larger of two peninsulas in Aomori Prefecture, the northernmost prefecture on Honshu. The other is the Tsugaru Peninsula.
