Our repeat prescription ordering pilot is taking place in 19 GP practices across Sefton from 1 September 2016 to 28 February 2017.
The pilot will greatly improve patient safety as well as cutting the high cost of unused medication in the borough - estimated to cost the local NHS at least £2 million each year.
It will mean that from September 2016 pharmacies and dispensing companies will no longer be able to order repeat prescriptions from participating GP practices on behalf of their patients.
