Welcome to my FIRST EVER Oxygen Not Included stream on the SpecificThinkin channel - and yes, I'm about to put a bunch of tiny duplicants inside a space rock and pretend I'm a responsible adult.
Oxygen Not Included is a colony-sim where you juggle oxygen, food, power, plumbing, germs, heat, stress, and the constant urge to build "just one more" pipe. This is a brand-new save and a first-time stream, so expect learning, chaos, panic fixes, and base design choices that look legal but behave criminally.
THE MISSION (a.k.a. "please don't die immediately"):
Get stable oxygen before everyone starts breathing CO2 like it's a lifestyle choice
Make bathrooms work without turning the base into a biohazard smoothie
Figure out power without tripping breakers every five seconds
Keep duplicants fed, somewhat happy, and not melting from my heat-management crimes
Explore the map and find the stuff we need to stop living on emergency-mode "temporary" solutions
Avoid accidentally inventing new forms of suffering (no promises)
WHAT I'M AIMING FOR THIS SESSION:
A clean starter layout (or at least something that resembles a plan)
Research priorities that don't immediately backfire
A basic power backbone and an oxygen loop that can survive a minor mistake
Early food that isn't 100% "mystery mush, vibes, and prayer"
A sensible place for industry so I don't put hot machines next to beds again (again)
CHAT, HELP, AND CHAOS:
Backseat gaming is welcomed (politely). If you know ONI, drop tips, warnings, or "DO NOT DO THAT" moments in chat. If you don't know ONI, perfect - we'll learn together and laugh at my pipe spaghetti. I'll be reading chat constantly, so your ideas can absolutely shape this colony in real time. If you see a disaster forming, call it out early. If you see a disaster already happening... please be kind, I'm new here.
FIRST-TIMER RULES:
1) No save-scumming unless it's truly run-ending (and chat agrees).
2) If I say "this will be fine," it is absolutely not fine.
3) Every time I overbuild a pipe network, we name it something ridiculous.
4) If the colony floods because I "tested something," that counts as science.
Things that WILL happen at some point: someone pees in the wrong place, the base gets humid for reasons nobody can explain, I build a pipe that goes nowhere, and a duplicant decides to nap during an emergency like they pay rent.
COMMUNITY MINI-GOALS:
Let chat name the colony (serious names are banned; only chaos is allowed)
Let chat name a duplicant (your best terrible name wins)
Start a "SpecificThinkin Certified Mistakes" counter for every avoidable crisis
Polls for big decisions: expand up, expand down, or build a giant pipe maze and regret it
If you enjoy colony sims, survival management, RimWorld energy, or watching someone try to optimize while actively making it worse - you're in the right place. Hit like, subscribe, and drop a comment with your #1 beginner tip (or your funniest colony failure story). Tell me what you want next: more ONI, harder asteroids, spicy settings, or a ridiculous self-imposed challenge. I'm here for the learning curve AND the comedy.

VOD VIEWERS / NEW PEOPLE:
If you're watching this as a VOD, welcome! I'm going to talk through my decisions out loud, because half the fun is learning why something failed. Feel free to timestamp your favorite disaster in the comments (I'll probably pin the best one). If you're a veteran ONI player, pretend you're my mission control: short, clear tips are legendary. If you're also new, don't worry - we'll figure it out together and celebrate every tiny win like it's a final boss.
COMMENT PROMPTS (help the algorithm AND my colony):
What's the #1 beginner trap you wish someone warned you about?
Should I prioritize oxygen, food, power, or exploration first - and why?
What's the funniest/most painful way you've ever lost a colony?
What should we name the colony: "Breath Mint Disaster" or something even worse?
