Agenda Highlights
Consent Agenda
A. Bills to be allowed in the amount of $1,048,211.18 and authorize Mayor Johnson and Clerk Soik to sign the warrant.
B. Approval of the Municipal Council Meeting Schedule for 2026.
C. Approval of a budget amendment request to uncommit $6,000 from the CPR AED committed fund balance in the General Fund and to increase the expense for AED training supplies in the same amount.
D. Approve the City to opt out of Michigan Public Act 152 for calendar year 2026, which allows the City to contribute to the employees’ Health Savings Account and employees to pay 20% of their monthly premiums.
E. Transfer the payroll and tax custodial accounts from Huntington Bank to Nicolet National Bank and authorize City Manager Rachel Smolinski to sign the documentation.
F. Appoint Councilmember Kevin Currier, and Councilmember Danny Mitchell as the alternate, to the Thunder Bay Transportation Authority Board.
Announcements
A. The Bolenz Jewelry Holiday Parade will be held on Friday, November 28th at 5:30 p.m. with the Tree Lighting Ceremony immediately following at Culligan Plaza.
B. Fire Chief Robert Edmonds will be retiring on November 30th. A retirement celebration will be held on Saturday, November 29th at the Alpena City Fire Department from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
