Built from a Judith Edge (O gauge) kit and fitted with a Zimo MX645 DCC sound decoder (with Paul Chetter sounds from Digitrains) and “Baby Boomer” speaker.
My son was driving whilst I was behind the cameras for this demo. I think it’s fair to say he was having fun, particularly with the horn. 🙂
The etched-brass loco. kit was a delight to build and didn't take long at all in construction. However, I used the model as a test-bed for developing my painting & weathering techniques and that has taken, quite literally, years (my Facebook page - @springmillstreet - shows more details). The main livery is loosely based on the loco (aka "The Sheriff"), previously located at Underwood's coal depot, Droitwich Spa.
Typically, this model was finished shortly before Heljan announced their RTR model. I think they must be stalking me because the next kit I worked on was a JLTRT/MM1 Class 24.
** If you'd like to see more details about this loco, I'm very happy to try to answer any questions in the comments. **
