Описание: How To Use Elbow Blocks. Ways To Hurt Your Opponent. Tom Yankello of the @World Class Boxing Channel is here to teach you how to use elbow blocks in a fight. He breaks down a variety of ways to hurt your opponent by giving you a variety of ways to use elbow blocks in a fight. This video features former World Champion Paul Spadafora who was a Southpaw. Tom demonstrates how a southpaw can use elbow blocks against a right hander aka orthodox fighter. There are different elbow blocks you can use depending on your range. If you are further away from your opponent, you can raise your elbow and arm while pivoting and turning when the orthodox fighter throws a right hand. Another way to use an elbow block is when the orthodox fighter feints a right hand and then throws the left hook. In this example, the southpaw can use the elbow block to the shoulder or an elbow block to the face. If you are in close range to your opponent who is throwing a right hook, you can spin and throw the elbow block into his shoulder which is very damaging. Another example Tom provides is when the southpaw throws the right hook, the orthodox fighter weaves and tries to throw the left hook. When he comes at you with the left hook, you can use an elbow block to the face. Tom goes into the footwork and hip rotations needed to effectively implement the elbow block.
