Stone masonry in Dublin. Limestone wall built using salvaged limestone in the Ranelagh / Rathmines.
This is a curved wall which is situated at the back of the house and gives access to the rear garden.
The limestone used came from an old wall / shed that was originally on the side of the property.
Stone is 'dressed' or worked in order to attain a two tone colour effect and to give shape. Joints are kept tight in order to emphasise the most important element, i.e. the stone itself. Capping was done using smaller pieces of limestone and constructed in a dome shape for simplicity.
The video was taken around a year and a half after been built, so its had time to 'bed' down into the surrounding environment.
