217 killed, 798 wounded since Israeli strikes began, Lebanon's Health Ministry reports

An evacuation order issued Thursday in Beirut resulted in widespread traffic jams as hundreds of thousands fled their homes. Oxfam's Lebanon country director, Bachir Ayoub, described the scenes as "heart-wrenching."

UPDATE (March 6, 2026): At 01:47 in this video, host David Common gives an update to the casualties in Lebanon, reported by its Health Ministry. Those numbers have since changed to 217 killed and 798 wounded since Israel first struck the country on Monday.
