This is how you can get a knife sharp by using the frosted portion of a glass straight edge. I was using my shipping scales surface, but you could theoretically also use the frosted portion on the top of your cars side window also. Or any other household item that has a frosted straight edge. Do not get discouraged if it takes some time and practice, but it is definitely a very simple and effective way to maintain a sharp edge on your knife. The important thing is to keep your knife as sharp as possible at all times. If it gets too dull, it will become extremely difficult to sharpen, and may require a dedicated knife sharpening system. But if your edge is not too far gone, this should get it back to sharp! The knife I was sharpening here was a Benchmade Griptilian in one54cm steel.
