I head into the mountains following a night camping through Storm Otto. Whilst the worst of the winds had abated, it was still a very testing camp for the Terra Nova Laser Compact AS 2, with strong gusting winds and squally showers passing over throughout the night.

I found a nice pitch but the ground was sloping toward the water, with shallow bedrock meaning it was difficult to find good purchase for the tent pegs. Despite these difficulties, the tent performed well and shrugged off some horrible conditions.

A few beers in the safety and comfort of the vestibule, whilst watching the showers head in was very relaxing. I enjoyed a lovely evening meal of Lapskaus (by Real Turmat) and lit a candle lantern for some extra warmth and that 'hygge' feeling.

The next morning saw herds of red deer on the fell sides which was a truly magical sight. I packed the tent away and headed off the fells and am now ready for my next adventure.
