Drawing from Acts 1:4-11, we see that Jesus commanded His disciples not to rely on their own strength, but to wait for the promised Holy Spirit—the very breath of God that brings true spiritual life. Just as CPR without breath is powerless, so church activity without the Spirit is only motion, not true life. We explored three dynamic relationships with the Holy Spirit: He is with us, in us, and comes upon us to empower. The Spirit’s power is not reserved for a select few but is a promise for every believer, enabling us to be bold witnesses of Jesus through both word and transformed living. The early church’s explosive growth and impact came through this supernatural empowerment. As we seek to live out our faith, let’s depend not on our own efforts, but on the living breath of God, trusting Him to work in and through us for His glory, the good of the church, and the salvation of the world.
