Bed Fishing For Big Largemouth Bass (South Africa) GNU Valley

Описание: This video is all about sight fishing for those bedding bass that just wanna be caught. I took a drive out to GNU valley on a hot day to some bass.

I got to Gnu Valley wanting to throw a top water frog but I had slept in and getting to the water way to late for the frog bite to produce. I did throw the white horney toad around for a bit, I realized quiet quick that the bass where not going to smash my frog. I put the frog down and started throwing the wacky rig senko. A couple of cast later I saw fish hanging on there beds. The big fish where not in the mood to chase baits around because they where pre occupied staying on they bed and protecting them from the rogue kurper that where trying to take over there nests. The senko is a good bait to throw around beds that the bass have made. This tactic didn't work as I planned and I tied on a fluke in a color that imitated the kurper well. I did my rounds and I saw a big bass that was holding onto it's bed and I casted my lure at it hundred times wanting it to take the bait. The big bass took the bait and I was on to my first fish, pitty it wasn't on camera. I threw the fluke around for a bit and I realized that the bass where chasing the kurper out there nests. This got me thinking and I tied on a underspin with a paddle tail swim bail.

This got the big bass fired up and I was hooked into my second bedding bass. This was a great fight and it was awesome to see the bass take my lure. I was confident to say this was the right presentation the bass wanted. I saw another bedding bass protecting it's nest and I really wanted to catch this bass because it was a big fish. few minutes later I had hooked the fish. Fought the fish and lost it, I was upset that I lost fish.

I did my rounds around the dam and no further luck. I tied on a 6th Sense Prawn with a bullet weight and started pitching it into the nests the bass had made. This presentation didn't get any reaction so I decided to throw the wacky senko again. This was a great move, I caught two fish with a cosmic black clout by 6th sense.

A coupe hours went by and I had no other luck with the senko. I took that underspin and I started casting at other bedding bass that I could see in the shallows. This was very frustrating because the bigger bass where showing interest but not commiting to the lure. The was tough and I was starting to give up. I said to myself that I wouldn't give up and I threw that lure untill a fish took it.

A really big bass took it and it was the biggest for me of the day. This bed fishing is a very new thing for me and it was learning curve me in my bass fishing courier. I learnt alot and I can't wait to go out and catch more bedding fish.
