Shooting At Long Range With WMS Firearms Training

On Today’s episode, we’re back in the beautiful Welsh countryside for an epic long range shooting session with WMS Firearms Training.

The last time we visited ‘shooting guru’ Andrew Venable’s ‘Sniper School’ we learnt how to make a safe, clean shot from the incredible distance of 300 metres.

This time at the astonishing distance of 500 metres.

As Andrew sets up his rifle on the hilltops, he is joined by Team Wild TV expert and director of The Wild Food Catering Company Cai Ap Bryn.

This one isn’t for amateurs; it takes a lot of skill and experience to hit a kill zone from such a long distance.

We asked Cai what is the most challenging part about shooting at long range. "The wind can cause all kinds of issues when shooting at long range. You can account for distance and adjust to suit, however wind is unpredictable and makes a massive difference. The other challenge is the distance itself, you need a decent rangefinder and optics if you are going to take up long distance shooting."
