The Iliad, Fagles translation, reading/audiobook: Book 1 part 1

I'll try and contain myself with half-assed history lessons, like the one on kleos, and just read the story going forward. It's just such an important concept for the story. If you're actually taking on this text in full, read up on it yourself. It's been years since I've written my undergrad short essay on it, so I am very far from qualified, and it's an extremely nuanced and alien concept. I'm sure people that know what they're talking about would crucify me for that little un-researched diatribe, but i think better that than just reading it as "honor".
reading this out loud makes me realize what an actually incredible feat it is that this is oral history, what the actual hell

*I don't even think text-to-speech audio books are bad, they're awesome for accesibility. But like... c'mon this is *oral history*. Not just that it's *the Iliad*. You can't just let a computer spit it out.
