The song “Aisi Mhari Mandi” which means “Such is our Mandi” echoes of the unconditional and eternal love that we all have for Mandi & all the viewers should consider this video a virtual invitation to visit and be enchanted by the beauty of this rather unexplored valley.
Hailing from the beautiful Balh valley of Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, Jatin Sharma (Buland Himalay) is an artist true to the spirit of the mountains. He has composed the song “Aisi Mhari Mandi” by amalgamating folklore with modern music, in a hope of rekindling people’s connection to their roots.
“Aisi Mhari Mandi" is a charming Himachali folk song potraying the Grand Procession of Raja Madho Rai of Mandi whose birth is believed to be a miracle caused by vibrations produced using Narsinghas (trumpet) and Nagadas (Indian drum).
This grand procession also called JALEB is seen in the Annual International Shivratri festival which is said to be attended by a number of deities of Mandi. Jatin’s melodious voice sings liltingly and takes you on a journey across this beautiful International Maha Shivratri fair as well as his hometown Mandi. His praise for the deities is like an ode to musical odyssey he creates. The song and its accompanying video takes you across Mandi also called “Choti Kashi” covering various temples like Shikari temple, Murari temple, the lakes of Rewalsar and Parashar and other marvels of valley.
