ABOUT THE CHARACTER/ANIME

Yu Yu Hakusho (translated as Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghost Files, Ghost Fighter and/or Poltergeist Report) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. The series tells the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who is struck by a car while trying to save a child's life. While in the afterlife, he is named the Spirit Detective by Koenma & Botan and must investigate cases concerning demons and apparitions. Yusuke travels with his friends Kuwabara, Kurama & Hiei, the other protagonists of the story. As the series progresses, the series strays away from a detective story to a more fighting-oriented story.

Yusuke Urameshi (浦飯 幽助, Urameshi Yūsuke) (also known as Eugene in the Filipino dub) is the main protagonist of the manga and anime series YuYu Hakusho. He is a Spirit Detective who is tasked with protecting Human World from various supernatural threats over the course of the series and his closest friends as well as greatest allies include Kuwabara, Kurama, Hiei, Keiko, Genkai, Koenma and Botan. He is also the de facto leader of Team Urameshi and the general person to look to when the going gets tough. At the start of the series, Yusuke is an uncontrollable teenage delinquent/street fighter with little to no positive qualities to his character. Over the course of the series, he starts becoming a better person, changing into an almost altruistic defender of the Human World.

Kazuma Kuwabara (桑原和真, Kuwabara Kazuma), more commonly known by his last name as Kuwabara and also known as Alfred in the Filipino dub, is one of the main protagonists of the series, along with Yusuke Urameshi, Kurama & Hiei. He is the younger brother of Shizuru Kuwabara. He also seeks to become Yukina's lover.

Yoko Kurama (妖狐蔵馬, lit. Yōko Kurama; in the English dub, Kurama the Yoko), also known as Shuichi Minamino (南野秀一, Minamino Shūichi translated as Southern Field and Excellence First, respectively), is one of the main protagonists in the anime/manga series of YuYu Hakusho. Yoko Kurama is the name of the original, silver-haired fox demon. After he was wounded by being chased, he put his spirit into the newly born human baby, Shuichi Minamino. It is at this point, and later through aging, that Kurama's psyche is in control. A theme throughout the series is his acceptance as a human being & his balancing of the two personalities. He can switch between both bodies almost at will after the Dark Tournament saga. Even though he is commonly seen in his human form (Minamino), he is referred to as Kurama.

Hiei (飛影ひえい? Flying Shadow) (also known as Jaganshi Hiei (邪眼師 飛影? Master of the Evil Eye: Flying Shadow) and Vincent in the Filipino dub), is a main character in the anime and manga series YuYu Hakusho by Yoshihiro Togashi. He is called "Hiei of the Evil Eye" in the Viz manga.
