Deer Park is the first V/line station to benefit from a Level Crossing Removal Project led rebuild, hence is the first "skyrail" station without overhead wires (for now, at least). It is a hub of activity, with surprisingly frequent services coming through it from both the Geelong and Ballarat lines, both of whom benefit from compensatory short-starter services due to the absence of proper electrified services to many parts of Melbourne's west.
