At the 'Together for Palestine' event, British actor Benedict Cumberbatch recited Mahmoud Darwish’s poem, "On This Land There Are Reasons to Live".
Held on Thursday at London’s Wembley Arena, the concert was the UK’s largest fundraising event for Gaza. Organised by 'Together for Palestine ( @t4plive )' and executive produced by British musician Brian Eno.
It was also livestreamed on YouTube, allowing global audiences to join in.
Described as “a gathering of artists, musicians and people for whom silence feels impossible,” the concert aimed to raise millions in support of Palestinian-led humanitarian groups, including 'Taawon', the 'Palestine Children’s Relief Fund', and the 'Palestine Medical Relief Service'.
