Scenario Background
Getting the Federation to fund a dedicated warship was an uphill battle as such dedicated engines of war went against the entire ethos of the Federation. Several factions within the Federation Council were openly hostile to the entire concept, calling it a waste of resources that could be spent building additional ships of proven designs.
These factions constructed elaborate wargames to "prove" that the Ares-class was poorly designed and ill-conceived. The most difficult of these scenarios involved an Ares escorting troops ships on a mission to liberate worlds captured by the Empire.
Squadron Strike! is the tabletop game of 3D space combat. It features a massive ship design system that allows players to recreate almost any fictional universe.
