A simple OpenCV based solution to display 3D perspective using face tracking. This demo was captured using a smartphone that I kept close to my forehead, while moving around. It was done in September 2011.
This work was inspired by the work of Johnny Lee, presented in the TED talk : • Wii remote hacks | Johnny Lee
The techniques used in this demo inspired me to work an idea to automatically control the screen brightness according to the viewer's comfort. The idea is presented in the invention disclosure: "Method for Automatically Adjusting Screen and Content Brightness for Optimal Visual Acuity" (http://ip.com/IPCOM/000213352)
Technical Details

The size of the face in the captured image is used to determine the distance of the viewer from the screen. The position of the center of the face, along with the size of the face was used to determine the viewer's angle with respect to the screen.
