Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that saying the word Miya is not unconstitutional. Speaking to reporters, CM Sarma said that he has not invented the word Miya and it is infact a name that the immigrants from Bangladesh have given to themselves. CM Sarma said that his statements are on the basis of the Supreme Court ruling where it was stated that Assam is under threat of invasion of people coming in from Bangladesh.
