PLOT

After a victory beating Eggman in act 1 in the mechanical glass dome that is Blue Marine Zone Eggman shoots at the wall that they were fighting in and blows a huge hole in the base Eggman escapes just in time as sonic is sucked out to the bottom of dark blue sea luckily Eggman built several structures at the bottom of the ocean that sonic can go in to breath. Sonic normally hates water, but the deep blue ocean below is a strangley calming and quiet place almost undermines the mission sonic is on to stop the mad doctor the only thing inturpting the peace is eggmans mechanical structures he built to harness the oceans recourses and the dangerous water badniks planted below. strangley, there are also structures looking like temples, that almost seem to be belonging to an ancient underwater civilization. But sonic has no time to gawk and awe at the sights as he continues to march on his journey to stop the doctor's evil schemes and save his animal buddies.

It took me along time figuring out how i wanted this track to feel i made about 3 different tracks for this level that i was not satsified with, i wanted this to feel grand and different completely unique to traditional genesis sonic music, I experimented alot, I even had a plan to include real recorded guitar I played for the intro then condensed the recorded tracks into samples but it felt too crazy for the genesis and my deflemask skills in general so I scraped the idea. I messed alot with the key and composition, it originally was gonna be in the key of B like act 1 but I settled with something more different since most of the final level tracks are in B minor, overall though I'm very happy with what I settled with.

For drums i used custom drum samples that i manually condensed down to 16 bit. for bass i used the sonic Spinball The Machine bass and the Marble Garden bass. And for the main melody i used the Rusty Ruins instrument from 3d Blast and the rest are ambient Ristar and Sonic Spinball insturments. I think this is my most ambient track yet gives me major aquatic ambience vibes from donkey kong country and eco vibes and im happy about that.
