Описание: 🥾 Just across the river from St. Louis — and WAY up above it.

The Salt Lick, Newman and Johnson trails near Valmeyer, IL take you up
onto the bluffs above the Mississippi River valley with rocky outcroppings,
boulder hopping that gave me serious Elephant Rocks vibes, and a sweeping
view of the St. Louis skyline across the river. On a clear day you can
apparently see the Arch from up there. November 1st was not quite that
clear — but the St. Louis skyline was visible and the view was absolutely
worth the climb.

538 feet of elevation gain, 715 feet of elevation loss, 2.8 miles in
2 hours 21 minutes. Short but it earns every foot of that elevation.

Oh, and I hiked it the day after Halloween still rocking my Ozzy
Osbourne beard-free face. No regrets. 🤘
