If planks leave your shoulders feeling sore or irritated, you might be missing a key fix. Front and side shoulder pain during planks often comes from weak stabilizing muscles and poor positioning - but the good news is, you can correct it!
In this video, Coach E breaks down why your shoulders hurt and walks you through a simple routine to fix shoulder pain during planks for good. With the right exercises, you’ll activate and strengthen muscles like the serratus anterior, rhomboids, and lower traps, so you can plank with better form and zero pain!
The exercises:
Slumpy Serratus Activator - wakes up and strengthens the often weak serratus anterior, improving shoulder stability and posture.
Chair Shrugs - trains scapular control and strengthens the long head of the triceps to keep your shoulder in a strong, stable position.
Scap Pushup (Knees) - builds awareness and control over your shoulder blades, so you can maintain proper plank form and avoid pain.
Try this routine 3x a week, and within 2-4 weeks, you’ll notice a big difference!
