Copyright Chicago Academy of Sciences, CC BY-NC-SA Footage of periodical Cicadas. Emerging, dying, having their tymbals revealed, being eaten (by a box turtle, salamander, and ants), laying eggs, They are shown as adults, as well as nymphs, carcasses and empty husks. A captured cicada has its ovipositor revealed. Several stretches of black frames, sometimes reaching ~10 seconds.
