Should Todd Monken's new defensive coordinator be an INTERNAL PROMOTION or an EXTERNAL HIRE?

Описание: Todd Monken kicked off his defensive coordinator search this weekend by interviewing two internal candidates in linebackers coach Jason Tarver and safeties coach Ephraim Banda.

Tarver, 51, was hired by Kevin Stefanski in 2020 and has spent the past six seasons as Browns linebackers coach. He previously served as coordinator of the Raiders under Dennis Allen from 2012 to 2014. In his first season as coordinator, he improved the Raiders defense from No. 29 in total yards to No. 18 in 2012.

Banda, 44, has spent the past three seasons as safeties coach of the Browns under former defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who resigned on Friday after being passed over the head coaching job in favor of Monken.
