The Polavaram project, built by MEIL, features many innovative and one-of-a-kind engineering designs. One such component is the Earth-cum-Rock Fill (ECRF) dam, which is structured into Gap-1, Gap-2, and Gap-3.

Unlike Gap-1 and Gap-2, which are rock-fill structures, Gap-3 is a concrete dam. This Gap-3, which is approximately 153.50 metres in length, 53.32 metres high, and 8.50 metres wide, is very crucial for the stability of the entire project.
