No, this is not the much celebrated hit by 70's funk band War. This is a much earlier track penned by Graham Bonney himself under his birth surname "Bradly".
Graham began his music career in the UK as a member of The Riot Squad in 1964. The next year he went solo and even had a hit in '66 with "Super Girl". Later in the decade he relocated to Germany and found success with a string of German sung songs in the late 60's and into the 70's. Much of Mr. Bonney's English material released on the Columbia label throughout the 60's was overshadowed by the German releases. This is not to say these songs were in any way inferior to songs that became hits. Graham just struck a chord and found an audience in Germany.
Witness the song here which finds Mr. Bonney in fine voice with nice orchestration including an oboe, which is the instrument that always makes me swoon. Hard to believe this track was a B-side to his earliest release. The A-side "My Little World Is All Blue", also written by Graham along with Barry Mason, is a nice track, I just prefer "Why Can't We Be Friends".
