Araz and Christos share intertwined paths. Both born in 1980, Araz is from Tehran and moved to Canada in 2005, while Christos was born in Thessaloniki and has been based in Barcelona since 2015. Araz is a prominent figure in the Iranian classical repertoire, skillfully playing the tar, while Christos plays the Turkish ney, blending Ottoman-Turkish and Greek influences into his music.

Both musicians are active composers who continually push the boundaries of their craft through new compositions, improvisations, and diverse collaborations. Their shared connection extends to the Labyrinth Musical Workshop community, with Araz serving as the artistic director of Labyrinth Ontario in Canada and Christos leading the branch of Labyrinth in Catalunya.

In their current collaboration as a duo, Araz and Christos highlight the unique qualities of their instruments—the tar and the ney - weaving extended improvisations with their own compositions of contemporary modal music, based in the classical repertoires of the wider region.
