In September, Matt Jenkin from Moorcrofts LLP demystified calculating holiday leave entitlement for workers. As we saw, a worker’s holiday leave entitlement is not a simple calculation for employers, especially as there are different ’types’ of leave (and different employment types e.g. fill-time, part-time, part-year and irregular hours).
A natural build on this webinar is to look at the calculation of holiday pay, i.e. the statutory obligation for employers to remunerate the worker for the leave entitlement that has been calculated. As you can imagine, with different ‘types’ of leave and a growing body of case law on the subject, how to calculate what pay a worker should receive when on holiday can sometimes appear confusing.
