Note that around 0:53, I dug up two Pea Vines so I could place another TT in R2 during the initial respawn of graves without the Pea Vines destroying them all. I forgot to put that in my chaotic explanation in the video.
Here's my explanation for the Tomb Tangler bug, adopted from @denis1231 who originally showed me this bug:
Tomb Tangler's PF effect can target and drag multiple zombies into the ground. BUT, if it targets a 'General' zombie (like Cardio, Z-Mech, or Caesar), and said zombie dies while being targeted, that zombie glitches into a state of limbo and stays on the lawn for the rest of the lawn. Any future Tomb Tangler PF effects can target that glitched zombie and be awarded the same amount of points for defeating the zombie normally (250k for first, 375k for second, 500k for third).
So, chaining multiple Tomb Tanglers with power tiles is ideal to maximize this incredible effect. Also, Guard Shroom produces Mini Shrooms. Plants on the same tile as a Mini Shroom will use their PF effect another time once activated, so this is ideal to maximize the PF spam of Tomb Tangler.
---------
Allegedly, the PF effect will "always" target the glitched zombie, but I don't think that's true. If it is not true, then you can certainly score higher than my 219M attempt in the video with just better rng.
Also, I'm not the best at this glitch, so I'm sure there will be much higher scores, even if my word jargon proposal is disproven. Good luck to those performing it! As I shown in the video, there are a couple of times where I was unoptimal, so in theory, a higher score is possible (I'm guessing 250M is the rough score limit).
Note that this should work even with lower level plants (although to a lesser degree) - Try using Scaredy-Shroom as your main damaging plant since its PF effect is that strong. For those with high level plants, standard Torchwood + Pea Vine should get you close since mastery doesn't increase the damage to grid items like graves.
Another thing you could adjust is the starting rotation. I left R3 empty and started with three initial Tomb Tanglers, but in theory you could stall one or two other rows to get more down. Not sure if it's worth it though.
