This immortal song was composed and written by one of the living legends of Odia Christian devotional music, Mr. Satya Sohhan Das, who hails from Balasore, Odisha. The song was composed in 1970, during the first super cyclone that hit Kendrapada that year in the month of November. Mr. Satya Sohban Das was working as a Science teacher in a mission school in Balasore at that time. On that fateful day as the cyclone was beginning to build up in the morning, Mr. Das could not get to school, instead he took a shot cut to the nearby boy's hostel to take shelter from the storm. As the storm gained momentum outside, Mr. Das was reminded of the storm that was brewing within him due to a personal reason. As he sat on the bed, the hostel inmates gave him a broken harmonium that was lying around. As he meditated on the Lord about his inner storm, this though came to him that 'if the Lord is with me, why do I need to fear any external force.' He immediately penned the immortal lines of this song and within an hour the song was written and composed.
