A magic carpet for your feet.

The Neversummer Funslinger has a whole lot going on; all sorts of camber and rocker, AND an asymmetrical sidecut. What makes it work is a refined balance of all these features working together. This is a camber profile that we both honestly lean away from for the most part, having both found v-ish cambered boards too washy feeling to really want to ride so this board came as a surprise to us. Full disclosure, neither of us are big Neversummer guys either; for our own personal (totally biased) opinions, neither of us have been fans of or ridden boards from this brand before - so we were doubly surprised to both come away with really positive feelings after riding the Funslinger.

You can feel the camber working under your feet as you ride this board - it is rockered between the feet, cambered under the feet, and rockered again towards the nose and tail. It’s definitely different feeling, but different in a good way. It eats up the humps and bumps in the terrain making for a really smooth ride, and worth noting a really solid ride. The Funslinger didn’t exhibit any of the washy-ness that we were expecting from this camber profile. This board also retained its snap and power, a common complaint of rockered boards or boards with rocker between the feet is that they are a bit weak on the ollie power - not so in this case. We also found that this board had a good feel at all speeds, but really shined the most when we got it up to top speed.

The Funslinger is one of a few asymmetrical sidecut boards we have ridden this year, this is another feature that feels a bit different in a good way. Applied to a park oriented freestyle board, having a tighter radius on the heel and wider on the toe gives the board more power on edge and in carves than you usually find in park boards and it felt surprisingly natural - it also felt amazing switch.

Overall feeling: The Funslinger is true to its moniker, it’s a blast to ride. This board took the freestyle to the mountain, and even made some of us older guys feel pretty good on park features. It was really solid everywhere we took it: trees, groomers, rollers, park, boardercross, it left us feeling confident and consistently surprised. A refined and well rounded park bard perfect for daily resort shredding.
