Yesterday I had decided to fish the pole feeder in the Abingdon town section of the river Thames. I knew the tactics (sort of) but wasn't sure what I would catch - if anything. The river is still thundering through but I checked it the other day and as there was a clear foam line on the fastest part of the stretch I assumed that anything else might be ok.
Just to be clear I didn't abandon the family to go fishing on Christmas Day - we in fact had our Christmas day on Friday before the kids and other half set off for more festivities abroad - just to be clear :)
Time on the bank is the most valuable thing when it comes to fishing - yesterday I had the clip too high up on my number 4 and today it was placed perfectly on my number 5 and ill soon get the hang of landing big fish on the river :)
