Award-winning photographer Zhou Qiang is known for his intimate portraits of life and death in rural China. His work has been displayed in New York, Paris, and Berlin.
Zhou's obsession with death began when he was a Taoist priest and continued as a news photographer covering disasters and other breaking news.
But when he witnessed the devastation of the deadly Sichuan earthquake of 2013, he re-evaluated his life and decided to leave journalism to become an artist.
