SPEARFISHING – FREEDIVING – AMAZING TRIPS
This day I just let myself guide by the ocean currents and drifted from little currents to stronger ones, which can lead to intersections where marine life meets and some action can be expected. On the way I saw different predator fishes, so I had a good feeling. After passing a shallow reef section, depth suddenly increased and let into sort of a lagoon with a gravely and sandy bottom at only about 9 meters of depth. I prepared my dive and descended slowly, freefalling quietly the last meters and softly landed on the bottom, when unexpectedly this massive 35kg roosterfish (Nematistius pectoralis) came straight to me. I did not land a perfect shot but managed to retrieve this beauty after a couple of minutes. With so much meat we could share a lot with friends and crew on the liveaboard sailing vessel. Nothing goes to waste when we select the fish we want to capture.

ABOUT ME: being born on the shore of the Pacific Ocean, I surfed and later discovered the amazing underwater world. I had the chance to spearfish all over the world in the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Arabian Gulf and the Caribbean Sea. Many years and trips allowed me to dive depths of 100 feet (30+ meters) one a single breath. I am also a certified spearfishing instructor and love to organize trips with friends. Lots of fun, great experiences and amazing fish is our target. Main area of activity is the Pacific and Caribbean coasts of Panama, Central America.
